Love on Fringe and well, not so much on Castle!

Last week in the first TV Diehard podcast, we chatted about Fringe and whether Peter was already home or not. We found out the answer this past Friday on "A Short Story About Love."

I had to have guests Melissa Girimonte from TheTelevixen.com and Laurel Brown from Buddy TV back to talk about it.

It was a discussion about science fiction, love and mystery!

We discussed:
  • The return of Fringe and the answer to whether Peter had already found his home and his Olivia.
  • The ABC promo department wanted us to believe that something epic was going to happen between Caste and Beckett on this past Monday's Castle. Did the reveal live up to the promo? We also discuss what is coming next.
  • Our love of Castle led us to talk about why we love some procedural-like shows over others.

Introducing the TV Diehard podcast

I started my first podcast several years ago, but never got around to doing a television podcast. After almost a year of thinking about it, the TV Diehard podcast was officially launched yesterday.

It wasn't without a little technical difficulty in the beginning, but that gives it a unique charm, right? I have to thank the amazing The Walking Dead finale for giving me kick in the ass to get the show started. I just had to talk about it!

Joining me in the inaugural TV Diehard podcast were guests Melissa Girimonte from TheTelevixen.com and Laurel Brown from Buddy TV.

We discussed the following:
  •  The Walking Dead finale
  • The Vampire Diaries -- the season through "1912" and what we think will happen next with Alaric.
  • The Secret Circle -- briefly discussed disappointment in the series compared to The Vampire Diaries.
  • Fringe -- talked about the universes and if Peter is already home or has a home to go back to.
Have thoughts on what we discussed? Continue the conversation in the comments here.
You can listen via the player below, download the episode via iTunes, or subscribe via the RSS feed.

The TV Diehard podcast is recorded live. If you would like to be notified of future live broadcasts, please provide your email address. During the live show, there will be a chat room to interact with other listeners, as well as, the host and guests. Also, on some shows, you can call into the show to join the conversation.

Thank you for listening!

Welcome to TV Diehard!

I've been watching television as long as I can remember. I grew up with Sesame Street, 3-2-1 Contact, You Can't Do That On Television, MacGyver, The A-Team, and Scarecrow and Mrs. King to name a few of my favorites. On Saturday nights at 6:30 p.m., it was time for Dance Fever!

There are quite a few shows I remember watching with my family, including All My Children with my father. On Saturday mornings, I would get up early to watch Super Friends on the floor in front of the TV. I had to be close because I didn't want to wake up my parents.

Even one of my household chores involved television! I had to match and roll everyone's clean socks. What does this have to do with television? I usually did this chore while watching something. And, when the TV screen would get scrambled and staticy, I would throw a pair of rolled up socks at the screen to fix it. What memories do kids have today? Accidentally throwing the Wii controller (I almost wrote joystick, yep ... I'm old!) and breaking the flat screen?

I started writing about television for CliqueClack over a year ago and enjoyed it. At the beginning of this year, I had the opportunity to expand my writing at TV Fanatic. As a freelance writer, there isn't one place to find all my writing. And, sometimes, I want to write something that isn't a fit for either of those sites, so I decided to create TV Diehard!

A joke that I often tell is that I have been a diehard Cubs fan since before I was born. While that is surely not really true, I was born into a diehard Cubs family and there was no escaping it -- not that I would want to. I've thought about doing this site for quite a while and just couldn't come up with a name.

Last week, it finally came to me -- TV Diehard. It combines my love for television with my love for the Chicago Cubs. And, most importantly, the domain name was available!

I hope you will join me here to talk about television. There will be some news, some reviews, and some ... I don't really know what. And, perhaps, I will occasionally even write about the Cubs (this is the year, right?).

The site is a work in progress, so the design will probably change. Please consider bookmarking the site, signing up for the feed, or even get the posts emailed to you.

Thanks for stopping by!
