The official description doesn't come close to describing the intensity of the hour or the threat faced by the Grounders and the Arkers, but provides some insight into what's coming up.
The 100 Season 3 premieres January 21, 2016 at 9 pm ET on the CW.
The 100 Season 3 picks up three months after the annihilation of the Mountain Men at Mount Weather. Over these months, there have been many changes, but Clarke and Bellamy's decision to exterminate an entire people hangs heavy over everything that's going on with the Skaikru, Trikru and other clans.
Executive Producer Jason Rothenberg said, "They are all Grounders now technically." And, that's evident immediately in Season 3. The term "Grounders" is too general to be of much value as a describer going forward with the show's expanding world. It could be argued that the original "100" and Arkers who joined them form another clan outside the 12 Clan coalition. They are the Skaikru.
The events at Mount Weather affect everyone who knows what happened emotionally, physically, romantically and/or politically. There's peace, but that doesn't mean it's all good. The peace is tenuous as Kane reminds Bellamy in the first teaser trailer.
During the three months, the Skaikru established a true home base and have taken advantage of technology. As the above image from the trailer shows, they have a vehicle now and horses too. This allows them to move around the lands more quickly and helps showcase the expansive world they must navigate.
One of the best moments of the premiere takes place in the truck and is a brief moment of lightness and joy in otherwise dark and dangerous world. It's a scene that will likely be replayed on repeat for a long time. (At least, I plan on doing that!)
I've only watched "Wanheda: Part One and Part Two" and it's an impressive start to my favorite series on television. I wasn't sure how The 100 would possibly follow up the first two seasons, but Jason Rothenberg, the writers, directors, cast, and crew have exceeded my expectations.
The 100 is fundamentally the same show as we saw last spring, but as there was a focal shift between Seasons 1 and 2, there's another one in Season 3. The intensity hasn't waned, instead the threats are even greater now.
In addition to the story of the Skaikru and the Clans, separately Jaha's journey with ALIE continues and Murphy begins to uncover more about what happened years prior in the bunker.
While you probably want to know more about what happens and specifics about certain characters, I'll leave that to the full trailer which comes out on Monday, December 14. Once that's released, I'll have a better feel for what I can and cannot say.
One tidbit, I'll leave you with is that Trigedasleng is used for communication more often than in the past seasons. When and how it's used instead of English speaks volumes over the words being said at times. It's another example of the world expanding and the assimilation of the Skaikru.
The 100 Season 3 doesn't hold anything back. It begins with a tortured soul and with the exception of the one truck scene I mentioned, that intensity doesn't let up. Mount Weather and what happened there provides an undercurrent to personal and political decisions being made, people's mental and physical state and really just about everything you will see on the screen.
Check out the The 100 trailer and watch the season premiere Thursday, January 21 at 9 pm ET on the CW!

The Good Wife occasionally will feature cases based on current events, while putting its own spin on them.
During The Good Wife season 4, the topics have included: the NATO summit protests in Chicago, hazing and spousal privilege for same-sex spouses. In "Rape: A Modern Perspective," three separate headlines were integrated into the hour, including "Anonymous" helping uncover evidence in a rape investigation, Bitcoin and the Justice Department's investigation into Aaron Swartz.
There was so much going on in this episode that it would have been easy for it to become cumbersome, but that never took place. Instead, the numerous storylines were well-written and integrated together in a cohesive manner.

Lost Girl is down to its last episode of the season and it's sure to be a doozy.
TheLost Girl season 3 finale, "Those Who Wander," picks up seamlessly from last week's "Hail, Hale." Lauren, Dyson and Aife are imprisoned at Isaac's lab, while Bo contends with a wounded Tamsin. Kenzi is in the Morrigan's custody at the Dal. And Trick is locked in a car trunk. The final two episodes could easily have been aired back-to-back as a two-hour finale.
Even though the show is currently on hiatus, Executive Producer Emily Andras took time to answer a few questions via email about the show's mythology, romances and more.
------------------------------
Lost Girl has a passionate fandom that is heavily invested in Bo's romantic life and the show also has a dense mythology. Throughout season 3, there was a balance between the two, which do you see as the guiding force of the show?
Hmm, a tough one, right out of the gate! The mythology, the world of the Fae, and the various relationships on the show -- as well as its wit and sense of fun -- are all equally important to the show's success. And the right balance between each element is critical if we want to continue to keep our fanbase engaged, as well as (hopefully) see it grow!
But if I had to boil down the 'driving force of the show' I would say it's more thematic than anything, and applies to most of the characters we've come to love: can you even be 'good' enough to make up for past wrongs? Can you choose whom you want to be vs. whom others insist you were destined to be? Can you ever truly live the life you choose? These philosophical questions, particularly as it relates to Bo's journey, are ultimately what fuel Lost Girl. Read full Emily Andras Interview.

"Masks" was crazy intense. Division was hit from both outside and inside forces that make a full recovery nearly impossible.
The top leadership of the New Division has been decimated. It's easy to say they should have seen this coming or that they didn't take nearly enough precautions, but they were betrayed by two people in their inner circle.
Alex and Owen were trusted leaders that betrayed their friends after Amanda's mind-altering procedures. In actuality, the crisis at Division is all Amanda's doing. She's used her powers for evil.
Want some Nikita spoilers? Check out the video preview and sneak peek for the next episode, "Broken Home."
Amanda uses her brain voodoo to visually show her childhood to Nikita. It looks like we'll find out how Amanda became ... Amanda.
Amanda reveals why Alex is obsessed with making sure everyone at Division gets out safe. Ryan is still in a coma and Michael is captured. Nikita says she never wanted to kill anyone and then attacks Amanda. Though, Amanda has a trick on her fingers ... literally.
There are only two episodes left in Lost Girl season 3. The "Hail, Hale" video sneak peeks show a grim outlook. Beware: The videos contain major Lost Girl spoilers. I almost wish I didn't watch them ... almost.
Check out the first preview from Syfy.
Bo is shot at and Dyson is kidnapped by humans. The Fae and Humans become enemies when the Morrigan says, "From this day forward, all Humans will be considered terrorists." Hale doesn't look very thrilled about her declaration.
What does this mean for Bo's relationship with Kenzi? And, Lauren? Will she put them at risk to remain in a relationship with them?
Dyson is in a cage and fighting. Are Humans using Faes to fight against each other for entertainment? A new form of cockfighting?
Tamsin gets shot! She can't die, right? I was just getting to like her. And, the clip ends with Trick saying, "Kenzi, hide!" She's in danger now too. Would Hale let anything happen to his former buddy, Kenz?
Here's the preview from Showcase.
Some very telling quotes from the video:
The Morrigan: "We've been trying to find a way to get the Light and the Dark to work together for a common good. While the need for such an alliance has finally come."
Trick: "There's been an attack by Humans. They've taken Dyson."
Isaac: "Just think what good we could do turn that negative into a positive."
Lauren: "You used my research to poison my friends." Isaac: "It's not your research!"
Trick has been taken too. By whom? Kenzi seems to be okay at least for a while. Someone is looking for their daughter.
The speculation that Isaac was a bad guy has been confirmed. How will Lauren fix this? She has to protect Bo, right? Will she be able to save Dyson? He is not a happy caged wolf.
Here's the last sneak peek from Syfy.
Kenzi was hit on the head by Bo? An unknown guy questions Kenzi's ability to help her Fae friends and asks if she wants to be Fae. What is this guy offering her? He's creepy. Kenzi replies, "It takes a con to know a con."
This scene doesn't fit in with the previous two. If Humans are the enemy, why would this mysterious guy be approaching Kenzi? Could it have been a dream sequence?
Have the videos gotten you excited for "Hail, Hale"? It's quite a shift from the rest of the season. A Human-Fae war has come out of nowhere.
Vincent was shot! Tess knows that Catherine is in love with the vigilante! What huge cliffhangers! At least we only have to wait a week to find out what happens now. Will Tess be a friend or a cop first?
Here's the official Beauty and the Beast "Partners in Crime" synopsis:
Cat (Kristin Kreuk) is forced to reveal things that she had been keeping from Tess (Nina Lisandrello) to salvage their relationship, and to protect Vincent (Jay Ryan). Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) is suspicious of everyone in the department, while Evan (Max Brown) witnesses Cat doing something that changes his opinion of her, making him even more determined to track down the beast.
Check out the preview:
Highlights from the "Partners in Crime" preview:
Tess calls for back-up despite Cat's pleas.
Vincent must get away because Cat is concerned that Tess may give them up.
"What if I can't convince her?" -- Cat
"Then we run." -- Vincent
"He isn't a monster. Trust me." -- Cat
"I can't be your friend." -- Tess
It looks like after Tess calls for back-up she runs back through the tunnel the way that she came with Cat chasing after her. Maybe she didn't put through the call?
From the preview and the released pictures, fan can rest in knowing at least Vincent wasn't seriously injured when Tess shot him. And, none of them are captured by the police. The big question remaining: What will Tess do with the information? In the below sneak peek, we get a little insight into how Tess is handling the situation. Gabe questions Cat about what happened at the warehouse and then about Tess' whereabouts. Since Cat and Tess are officially no longer partners, Cat brushes off his inquiry. He is one suspicious dude! Gabe says he will send officers over to check on Tess since the vigilante could still be on the loose. When Cat offers to go check on Tess herself, Gabe invites himself along. Awkward!
As much as I want to dislike Gabe, he's rather charming when he wants to be. Then I remember that he killed the loan shark and then killed another guy pretending to the be the vigilante/Vincent. What is Gabe's agenda? He clearly wants Vincent for something, but for what reason? We'll have to wait until next Thursday to find out! Beauty and the Beast returns on March 28 at 9 pm ET on the CW.
"The Life We've Chosen" were appropriately Ari's last words and summed up the episode well. Though, it could just as easily have been titled for what Alex said, "Because you say it is?" The mission to get Alex back was full of difficult choices and conflict, which likely will stick with the team members.
In the new Division, the management structure is complicated with Ryan running the joint, but both Nikita and Michael are in leadership roles too. Alex's question could have been poised by and to several members of the team throughout the hour. While this new organization is supposed to be better, one area that it lacks is in command and obedience. Perhaps, the lack of blind obedience is a good thing though.
Check out a preview of next week's Nikita. In "Inevitablity," Nikita goes on a mission to assassinate the president of Chad and runs into a rogue Division agent.
I have not read the books, so much of the trailer didn't make as much sense to me probably as it would someone familiar with the source material. It looks epic and intense, which is no surprise.
It opens with a Varys voiceover, "It's been a long time, my old friend."
Then, ends with him saying "The revenge you want will be yours in time." over the pictures of Robb, Arya, Jaime, Cersei, and Tyrion.
Is it possible for the Starks and the Lannisters to get revenge? Doubtful, but their paths surely will be filled with blood.
Other quotes from the trailer:
Melisandre: "Death is coming for everyone and everything. The darkness that will swallow the dawn"
Catelyn: "Show them how it feels to lose what they love."
Mance Raydor: "I'm going to light the biggest fire the North has ever seen."
Joffrey: "Everyone is mine to torment."
Jorah: "There's a beast in every man and he stirs when you put a sword in his hand." The next month waiting for the premiere is going to seem like an eternity. Though, at least we will have this trailer and perhaps more previews to watch again and again while we wait.
Game of Thrones premieres on March 31 at 9 pm ET on HBO.
